Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an intermediate-level electrician to plan, lay out, install, test and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control systems. The role involves interpreting drawings, measuring and installing conduit, wiring, and terminations, and coordinating with supervision to ensure safety and compliance.

The candidate will work with high and low voltage systems, perform start-up tests, and troubleshoot issues while using a variety of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with related experience.
• Working knowledge of position requirements.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, sketches, software, plans and determine best work procedures, tools, equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations.
• Install control and distribution apparatus and fasten in place.
• Test and start up systems and continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
• Observe functioning of installed equipment to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• May pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Work with high and low voltage systems.
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
• Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical tools.

Primary Responsibilities And Duties
