Qualifications
  • A valid US driver’s license.
  • Be familiar with the latest edition of National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Familiarity with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in particular as applies to safety and NFPA 70E.
  • Must be able to form, bend and route aluminum, EMT, rigid, and PVC conduits up to 2" in diameter per industry standards.
  • Be capable of using the following test equipment: Digital VOM, Analog Megger, Signal Generator, Pressure/Level/Flow Calibrator, “Smart” Instruments, Programmable Recorders, Calibrators (4‑20MA, etc.), Oscilloscope, Voltage/Current Recorders, Motor Testing Equipment.
  • Must be able to comprehend job specifications and engineering drawings to complete tasks.
  • Required to work at heights and on roofs, using a ladder or scaffolding.
  • Have a working knowledge of 120/208V and 277/480V 3‑phase, 4‑wire voltage systems.
  • Assist on medium voltage applications up to 7200V as required.
  • Have working experience with general wiring practices as they apply to single and three‑phase motors and transformers, lighting fixtures, receptacles and instrumentation.
  • Work with outside contractors, utility crews (electrical and telephone) and other company departments to solve problems.
  • The ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics and to use the same in troubleshooting.
  • An understanding of small air compressor systems and associated instruments and controls.
  • A thorough working knowledge of motor starters (size 00‑6) and their control systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct problems as required.
  • Ability to disassemble, clean, test, and reassemble a motor starter.
  • Possess an understanding of AC variable frequency drives, DC Drives, programmable logic controllers and the ability to diagnose problems and repair equipment, where feasible.
  • A strong electronics background would be helpful.
  • Experience with motor operated valves a plus.
  • Be familiar with emergency generators, transfer switches and 125VDC battery systems.
  • Understand, and have a working knowledge of electronics and various instrumentation signals (4‑20MA, 1‑5VDC, tachometers, capacitance, radar, etc.) and the ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits.
  • An understanding of protective relays, switchgear operation, and synchronous motor control at 2400V and above would be beneficial.
  • A familiarity with satellite and radio communications equipment and S.C.A.D.A. systems is required.
  • Proficient in the use of all electrical trade hand tools including hand‑held power tools, threading machine, hole coring machine.
  • Be capable of working independently following written and verbal instructions.
  • Shall be required to respond to emergency situations during off‑hours and available for overtime on short notice.
  • Shall be capable of operating computers for Aqua's asset management system (currently Maintenance Connection) and basic programs such as Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Successful candidate shall generate and complete work orders in Maintenance Connection system, and complete preventative maintenance, inspection, and repair checklist templates.

The hourly rate of pay is $46.24. All employees hired or entering the bargaining unit on or after December 15, 2022, will receive four dollars ($4.00) per hour less than the classification wage rate. The wage reduction will be returned in one dollar ($1.00) increases once a year over a four‑year period. Employees will receive annual contract increases.
