Job summary

RRD is seeking an Electrical Technician for third shift with shift differential. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical lines and equipment per codes and blueprints.

A strong understanding of circuits, wiring, and safety practices is required, along with proficiency in hand and power tools and test equipment. Knowledge of NEC and local codes, as well as the ability to read schematics and engineering drawings, is essential for ensuring proper operation and safe

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operation and installation of electrical systems and equipment.
• Understanding of circuit operation and how components interact.
• Knowledge of wire, conduit, fittings, relays, breakers, and related devices.
• Ability to interpret NEC and local codes, blueprints, and wiring diagrams; perform property calculations.
• Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and a variety of test equipment.

Job Description

• Install, modify, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.
• Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the operation and installation of a variety of complete electrical systems and equipment
• Strong knowledge and understanding about how various circuits, equipment, and controls operate, fit, and work together
• Must have a knowledge of the various gauges, sizes, and types of wire, conduit, couplings, fittings, relays, boxes, circuit breakers, and other electrical devices, and the ability to arrange and install them in ways that insure proper and safe operation of electrical systems and equipment
• Ability to interpret and apply the National Electrical Code, local codes, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings, and to use trade formulas to calculate common properties, e.g., voltage, voltage drop and current capability in series and parallel circuits, resistance, inductance, capacitance, power factor, current flow, and temperature, and length in single and multiple raceways, conduits, gutters, and cable trays
• Must have skill in the use of hand tools and power tools and a wide variety of test equipment
