Shaw Industries in Dalton, GA is seeking a Reliability Electrician V on first shift to lead expert-level electrical maintenance of automated plant systems.
You will troubleshoot, program controls, mentor junior electricians, and drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and efficiency across manufacturing equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical manufacturing.
- Technical degree or apprenticeship in industrial electrical field.
- Extensive automation, robotics, or motion control experience.
- Strong preventive maintenance (PdM) experience.
- Experience leading reliability or automation projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintain & optimize electrical systems in a highly automated plant.

Position Overview
Reliability Electrician V
|Shift: 7 am - 3 pm|
Position Purpose
The Reliability Electrician V is the highest-level electrical maintenance technician position within the organization. This role is responsible for expert-level troubleshooting, advanced automation and controls programming, and technical leadership in maintaining the plant's most complex electrical, robotics, automation, and control systems.
The Reliability Electrician V ensures equipment operates at peak efficiency while maintaining the lowest reasonable operating cost. Additionally, this position serves as a technical mentor and subject matter expert, providing guidance to Reliability Electricians II-IV and supporting facility-wide reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Advanced Troubleshooting Responsibilities
- Lead complex troubleshooting activities involving electrical, automation, robotics, and control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment failures with minimal downtime.
- Analyze system performance data to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Support production and maintenance teams during critical equipment failures.
- Differentiate between:
- Mechanical failures
- Electrical failures
- Controls and automation issues
- Process-related issues
- Product-related issues
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex equipment failures involving:
- PLC logic and programming
- Robotics systems

- AGV control systems
- Develop and implement sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
- Document findings, repairs, and improvement recommendations to support long-term equipment reliability.
- 5 years of experience in electrical manufacturing
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, or recognized industrial electrical certification
- Extensive automation, robotics, or motion control experience
- Strong PdM experience (IR, ultrasound, data analytics, oscilloscopes)
- Experience leading major reliability or automation project
