Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced-level electrical work to maintain hospital facilities and infrastructure.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical distribution systems.
  • Maintain switchgear, motor control centers, generators, and transfer equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with A/C equipment and electrical components.
  • Apply life safety, electrical, and building codes in all work.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Use testing devices to ensure safe system performance.
  • Support safe work environment and respond during on-call rotations.
  • Travel to local facilities as needed for support.

What You'll Do
  • Perform advanced-level electrical work to maintain and extend the service life of hospital facilities, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial electrical distribution systems.
  • Maintain and service switchgear, motor control centers, emergency generator sets, and transfer switch equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with A/C equipment and related electrical components.
  • Apply life safety, electrical, and building codes in all work performed.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical service manuals.
  • Utilize electrical testing devices to ensure safe and accurate system performance.
  • Support a safe work environment and respond to urgent facility needs during on-call rotations.
  • Travel as needed to local facilities to provide support
What We're Looking For
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two-year vocational, technical, or trade education in an electrical field required, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A three-year electrical apprenticeship program may be accepted in lieu of technical/trade education.
Experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in commercial electrical distribution system installation and maintenance required.
  • Equivalent experience in a related field combined with a three-year electrical apprenticeship may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare facility experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment operation and repair.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and common PC software applications.

Licensure

  • A city/county journeyman's card and/or an electrician's license from state of employment, required.
  • Valid NC Drivers License

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, stretch, and perform medium to heavy physical work.
  • Ability to kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Manual dexterity required to safely operate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to hear and recognize changes in equipment and machine operation.
  • Ability to work in noisy, fast-paced, and occasionally stressful environments.
  • Ability to work extended shifts when needed.
