Job summary

Rabalais Instrument & Electrical Constructors is seeking an experienced Electrician Journeyman for assignments in Abilene, TX and additional Texas locations. This full-time onsite role requires a current Journeyman license and the ability to travel.

You will install, modify and maintain low to high voltage systems, read electrical drawings, and safely perform troubleshooting, testing and repair work with adherence to the NEC and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Journeyman license according to state requirements.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Install raceway systems comprised of rigid PVC and EMT conduit and aluminum cable tray.
• Installation and termination of single and multiple conductor cables.
• Install electrical devices such as light fixtures, transformers, disconnects, motor starters, distribution panels and start/stop stations.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits.
• Safely use electrical test equipment and hand/power tools.
• Read electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices.
• Maintain safety when working at elevated areas and with PPE.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical codes.

Rabalais I&E Constructors seeks experienced Electrician Journeyman in Abilene, Tx.

An Electrician must have the knowledge and skills to install, modify and maintain low, medium to high voltage circuits associated with, power distribution, motors, controls, lighting and grounding systems, with limited support and supervision from others.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Possesses a Journeyman license according to state requirements.
• Installation of electrical raceway systems comprised of rigid PVC and EMT conduit and aluminum cable tray.
• Installation and termination of single and multiple conductor cables.
• Installation of electrical devices such as light fixtures, transformers, disconnects, motor starters, distribution panels and start/stop stations.
• Test, trouble shoot and repair normal electrical circuits.
• Safely use electrical test equipment such as a volt-ohm meter, amp meter or megohmmeter.
• Safe operation of hand and power tools such as band saws, drills, conduit threaders, hole punches and wire tuggers.
• Accurately measure and bend up to 6” conduit using manual, mechanical, hydraulic and electric conduit benders.
• Install electrical conductors (cable pulling) including accurately measuring, cutting, pulling, tagging, shaping and securing cable to wireways or welded studs.
• Properly pack and pour seals.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices
• Ability to read electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of use, limitations and maintenance of all Personal Protective Equipment required for the assigned work.
• Knowledge of hazards and safe work procedures associated with working form elevated work areas and personnel lift equipment.
• Knowledge of hazards and safe work procedures associated with the assigned work including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces, Emergency Action Plans, Safe Work Permits, Incident Reporting, and Hazcom procedures.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical codes.
