Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Electrician-Journeyman for our team in Springfield, VA to support our government customer. You will inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and test electrical systems up to 600V across facilities.

Responsibilities include reading prints, performing preventive maintenance on AC/DC systems, troubleshooting, and ensuring work adheres to national/local codes. U.S. citizenship and security clearance requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Must have a Journeyman Electrical License.
• Four years maintenance and/or construction experience in the electrical trade.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship and have at least a Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work from prints, diagrams, specification, and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs; as well as demolition, installation, testing, and inspection of work to be done on electrical systems
• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of electrical equipment on AC and/or DC systems
• Analyze, troubleshoot, modify, install, and repair electrical equipment and circuits using prints, diagrams, and test instruments
• Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble, maintain and lubricate all manual or automatic AC and DC systems, electrical equipment, transformers, switchgear, control panels, regulators, and various other electrical apparatus
• Utilize a thorough working knowledge of national and local electrical codes
• Prepare and maintain records and reports on electrical systems equipment, as required for maintenance programs on the basis of all information obtained through tests
• Install conduit, wiring and electrical apparatus
• Read blueprints and generate bill of materials
• Perform other job related duties, as assigned
• Maintain part and tool inventories
• Directs other repair personnel, as assigned.

• A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required
• High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have at least a Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
