Hecla Mining Company is seeking a Mine Electrician to perform electrical repairs, installations, inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical lines, machinery and equipment throughout the Lucky Friday mine, both on the surface and underground.
The role requires a High School diploma and a Journeyman Electrician license (Idaho or reciprocal), with preference for prior mining experience and familiarity with high/medium/low voltage power distribution systems.
Summary
The Mine Electrician will perform electrical repairs, installations, inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical lines, machinery and equipment throughout the Lucky Friday, both on the surface and underground.

High School graduate or equivalent.
Licensed as Journeyman Electrician in Idaho or a reciprocal state, or the ability to pass the Journeyman Electrical Licensing test in Idaho.
Previous experience in a mine setting preferred.
Experience with high/medium/low voltage power distribution systems preferred.
Knowledge of power monitoring equipment and installations preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
ATF possessors clearance required.
Must complete MSHA 40‑hour training or provide 5000‑23 documentation of completed training.
Must pass physical and drug screen, and essential functions capacity test.
Frequent standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; communicate regularly. Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 125 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, underground work locations, work from heights, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise level usually moderate. Position may require work on nights, weekends, and rotating shifts.
