Job summary

STARCON International, Inc. is seeking journeyman electricians for a Columbus, OH project. The role involves installation, maintenance and inspection of electrical systems in new construction and remodels, with supervision by a journeyman.

Per diem and travel pay are available for qualified team members. The candidate should have at least four years of industrial/commercial experience, with up to 600V, and be able to read wiring diagrams and install power distribution equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in industrial or commercial setting.
• Experience with voltages up to 600V and installation of power distribution systems including panels and transformers.
• Solid troubleshooting capability using a variety of testing equipment.
• Fundamental knowledge of instrumentation communication applications and installation practices.
• Journeyman or NCCER Electrician qualification.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical systems and service work in new or remodeled facilities under supervision.
• Install, repair and maintain electrical equipment, power, lighting, control panels, conduit, switches, generators and transformers.
• Skilled in installing conduits, cable tray and channel raceways; read wiring diagrams for basic equipment.
• Use meter/Megger testing equipment to verify system integrity.
• Follow installation instructions and diagrams for proper wiring of equipment.

Location: Columbus, OH, working commercial-style construction in a new large building complex. Basic hand tools required

Pay Rate: $53.00

Per Diem: $150 paid all 7 days if full shifts completed.

Travel pay in/out available for qualified team members

• Education/Certifications:

oTDLRJourneyman or NCCER Electrician

• Physical:
• Must comply with STARCON’s drug andalcohol policy.
• Able to pass physical examination, ifrequired.
• Able toclimb towers through ladder cages, climb stairways carrying 20lbs of tools and/ormaterials, work from scaffolding at elevated heights, work in towers andvessels, work in excavations, extended hours on your feet on un-even work surfaces(dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel)
• Must be able to pass applicablesite-specific training. Knowledge ofrefinery and chemical plant hazards which may requirespecial precautions
• Mustundertake the appropriate safety/environmental training commensurate with theposition and location.
• CPR and1 st Aid training and certification, when required.
• Must be able to read and understandsafety instructions, signs, labels and permits in English
