Job summary

STARCON International, Inc. is seeking a licensed Electrician Journeyman for industrial/commercial facilities in Columbus, Ohio.

You will perform installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical systems, read wiring diagrams, and work under supervision of a Journeyman. A strong commitment to safety and hands-on work are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in industrial or commercial settings.
• Experience working with voltages up to 600V and installation of power distribution systems.
• Solid troubleshooting capability using testing equipment.
• Fundamental knowledge of instrumentation—communication applications and installation practices.
• Licensing and certification requirements (driver license; Journeyman or NCCER Electrician).

Responsibilities

• Performs all phases of installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical systems in new or remodeled facilities.
• Installs, repairs and maintains electrical equipment, panels, conduits, switches, generators and transformers.
• Skilled in the installation of conduits, cable trays, wire baskets and raceways.
• Uses meter and megger testing equipment.
• Reads and understands installation instructions and wiring diagrams.

• Education/Certifications:

• oValiddriver license.
• oTDLRJourneyman or NCCER Electrician
• Physical:
  • Must comply with STARCON’s drug andalcohol policy.
  • Able to pass physical examination, ifrequired.
  • Able toclimb towers through ladder cages, climb stairways carrying 20lbs of tools and/ormaterials, work from scaffolding at elevated heights, work in towers andvessels, work in excavations, extended hours on your feet on un-even work surfaces(dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel)
  • Safety/Environmental:
  • Must be able to pass applicable site-specific training. Knowledge of refinery and chemical plant hazards which may requirespecial precautions
  • Mustundertake the appropriate safety/environmental training commensurate with theposition and location.
  • CPR and1st Aid training and certification, when required.
  • Must be able to read and understandsafety instructions, signs, labels and permits in English
