Job summary

Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to support construction projects on active sites. You will install wiring raceways, cable trays, electrical equipment, lighting, perform wire terminations, tests, and troubleshoot electrical systems across the job site.

Candidates must read blueprints, follow NEC and safety rules, hold a journeyman or master license, and bring required tools. Travel and teamwork are expected components of this role.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, or building plans.
  • Must meet all safety and security requirements at the assigned job site.
  • Must have verifiable experience as a journeyman electrician or 4+ years working as an electrical apprentice.
  • Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment or materials to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work, locations, quantities, and sizes of materials.
  • Identify tools required for tasks and safety risks to mitigate.
  • Perform general electrical construction and maintenance duties.
  • Install, terminate, seal, test, and connect electrical equipment, conduit, and raceways.

Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician.

Position Summary

An Industrial Electrician will perform the following activities but are not limited to: install wiring raceways, install cable trays, install wire & cable, install electrical equipment, lighting, perform wire terminations, perform electrical tests, troubleshoot electrical systems, etc., across a construction site

Position Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations in space (coordinates), quantities, and sizes of materials required
  • Identify all tools required for tasks
  • Identify safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risks
  • Perform general electrical construction and maintenance duties
  • Install, terminate, seal, test, etc., new electrical equipment, conduit, wire, raceways, or connections to electrical infrastructure and process equipment motors, etc.
  • Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
  • Repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring, and fixtures
  • Follow National Electrical Code (NEC), state, local, and client regulations and specifications
  • Cleanup work areas
  • Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties (be a Team player)
Required Qualifications
  • Must have verifiable experience as a journeyman electrician or 4+ years working as an electrical apprentice
  • TWIC
  • Must have State issued journeyman or master electrician license
  • Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties
  • Must have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction
  • Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment or materials to specifications
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime with little or no notification
  • Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional duties while not performing primary craft duties
  • Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Must follow all company and site rules and regulations
  • Must have required tools
  • Ability to work with others - Team player
  • Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Former employee of RCI
  • NCCER Certification related to Electrician or Instrumentation
  • Completion of electrician apprenticeship or other formal/technical education

Physical Requirements
  • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting
  • Will talk and hear in order to communicate effectively
  • Able to use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, and push or pull objects such as materials, controls, and tools
  • Will be required to lift, carry and move objects up to 50lbs in weight
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work off platforms and man lifts
  • Capable of occasionally work out on an open structure using the appropriate fall protection requirements
  • Capable of work at heights up to 300 feet utilizing proper fall protection devices
  • Will use vision abilities to focus, see short distances, see colors, possess depth perception and peripheral vision
  • Must be capable or working outdoors in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves, steel toe/safety toe boots, and masks/respirators
