Job summary

City of Kingman is seeking an experienced Electrician to perform advanced journey-level electrical work to support City water operations. This role focuses on the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.

Work is performed with a high level of independence and technical responsibility and includes participation in an on-call rotation to support emergency and after-hours needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a recognized four-year electrical apprenticeship or equivalent training.
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a skilled electrician including two (2) or more years in a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License at a minimum level of Class B or ability to obtain one within six (6) months of hire.
  • Ability to respond to emergency call-outs and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Based on assignment, ability to obtain required certifications, including NIMS.
  • Assignments may require obtainment of Arizona Grade 1 Water or Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Water Systems Support: perform advanced journey-level electrical work for water facilities, including installation, inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance, Documentation & Inventory: inspect equipment, maintain logs and drawings, replenish supplies and ensure materials availability.
  • Operational Support: respond to emergency call-outs, report hazards, perform construction and maintenance work, and provide quality customer service.
