Job summary

Ferrara Fire Apparatus seeks an assembler to fabricate wiring harnesses and install components in a range of electronic and electromechanical products. You will assemble control panels, drives, motors and related devices, and design electrical boxes for component installation.

Reading engineering drawings and maintaining records are essential. You will work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions, with lifting requirements and the ability to stay on site for extended hours.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must read and understand English.
• Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
• Must be able to twist, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, squat, crawl, and climb.
• Must be able to perform overhead work.
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day on concrete surfaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and up to 80 pounds team lift.
• Must read engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate wiring harnesses and install components, circuit modules, relays, diodes and harnesses.
• Assemble electrical control panels, AC/DC drives, motors and related devices.
• Design and fabricate electrical boxes for component installation.
• Drill, edge–fill and assemble detail parts and assemblies; create openings for wires.
• Inspect installations for proper fit and integrity.
• Maintain documentation and records; keep work areas clean and organized.
• Perform assembly operations on structural and mechanical sub/assemblies, equipment and accessories.

JOB SUMMARY

Perform various duties required to fabricate wiring harnesses and install components, circuit modules, relays, diodes and harnesses in a variety of assemblies and chassis units for all types of electronic and electromechanical products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform various duties required to fabricate wiring harnesses and install components, circuit modules, relays, diodes and harnesses in a variety of assemblies and chassis units for all types of electronic and electromechanical products.
• Responsible for mechanical assembly and wiring of electrical control panels, AC/DC drives, motors, and other devices, etc.
• Design and fabricate electrical boxes for installation of components.
• Drill, edge fill, fit and assemble a variety of detail parts, and assemblies, including cutting openings in bodies to accommodate wire and components, using hand tools and power tools.
• Inspect for proper installations and integrity.
• Ability to use general and precision tools such as tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc
• Must read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Maintain necessary documentation and records.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Perform assembly operations on structural and mechanical sub/assemblies, equipment and accessories.
• Perform other work as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must be able to read and understand English.
• Must be able to accurately read tape measure.
• Must be able to twist, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, squat, crawl, and climb.
• Must be able to perform overhead work.
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day on concrete surfaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and up to 80 pounds team lift.
• Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions including but not limited to outside heat in excess of 95 degrees for up to 10 hours.
