Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a Facilities Electrical Technician at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on maintaining and upgrading electrical systems to support safe, reliable operations across the campus.

You’ll perform preventative maintenance, respond to outages, and collaborate on energy management initiatives, ensuring compliance with NFPA, NEC, and other codes while keeping training materials up to date.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of high school or trade school.
  • At least 2 years of related electrical experience.
  • Relevant license or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates and diagnoses electrical system failures to determine repairs or upgrades.
  • Installs new electrical equipment and advanced systems to improve facility energy management.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on electrical infrastructure per NFPA/NEC/TJC codes.
  • Responds to after-hours emergencies and power outages; uses PPE and keeps tools safe.
  • Informs staff on work orders and participates in training to ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role:

  • Investigates and diagnoses electrical system failures or malfunctions to determine the necessary repairs, replacements, or upgrades.
  • Installs new electrical equipment and advanced systems to improve facility capabilities and energy management systems.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on all electrical infrastructure in strict compliance with NFPA, NEC, and TJC codes, while keeping training manuals updated.
  • Responds to after‑hours emergencies and power outages, utilizes standard precautions/PPE, and maintains tools in safe, working condition to eliminate immediate hazards.
  • Informs staff on work order statuses, assists with special projects, and participates in training, workshops, and seminars to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
