Job summary

PF Holdings is seeking an Electrician Apprentice to join our Wisconsin maintenance team. The role focuses on installation and repair of automated industrial control equipment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of Electrician Apprentice experience, and familiarity with electrical prints, safety standards, and preventive maintenance. Light lifting and potential vehicle trips may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred.
• 1 year experience as Electrician - Apprentice.
• Four years combined schooling and industrial experience required.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair automated industrial control equipment.
• Install and maintain control systems including loop controllers, VFDs, reduced voltage starters, level controls, ethernet MCCs, belt scales, and panels.
• Read electrical prints and schematics; troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document work.
• Light lifting and may drive to pick up parts.
• Follow safety practices (MSHA, lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E).

Position Summary:

The Electrician Apprentice is responsible for installation and repair of automated industrial control equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Installation and repair of automated industrial control equipment
• Install and maintain industrial control equipment and instrumentation such as loop controller, variable frequency drives, solid state reduced voltage starters, level controls, ethernet motor controls centers, belt scales, and control panels
• Thorough understanding of electrical systems
• Install and repair electric motors and equipment (120, 240 and 480V)
• Knowledge of basic hand tools and machine shop equipment, the proper use of all electrical test equipment used to perform electrical/electronic repairs of production equipment
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and document finished work
• May drive a pick-up truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and/or to pick up parts from local vendors
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong machine electrical background
• I/O knowledge (hardwired/discrete, digital/ethernet, and analog) and the ability to read electrical schematics
• Computer skills - Windows environment, loading and setup of various software platforms desired
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
• Ability to read prints including mechanical and electrical prints
• Possess excellent analytical skills, data interpretation
• Knowledge of safety practices such as MSHA, lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E and proper use of PPE
• Strong communication skills

• 1 Year experience as Electrician - Apprentice

• Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, stoop, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
• May require occasional periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty
• Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
• Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
• Ability to work in cramped quarters
• Lift objects of various dimensions and weights
• Lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 150 feet
• Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 150 feet
