Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Electrician, Facilities (Multiple Shifts) to maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems across its facilities. You will work from blueprints and wiring diagrams, test circuits, and integrate upgrades to plant subsystems to ensure reliable operation.

Primary qualifications include a high school diploma and 3+ years of electrician experience; preferred are generator and large-engine familiarity, Medium Voltage, and a Master Electrician license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as an electrician.

Responsibilities

• Repair and replace defective electrical parts in fixtures.
• Install and repair electrical and electronic components of machinery, including hydraulic/pneumatic devices.
• Perform preventative maintenance on plant electrical systems and equipment.
• Test circuits and connections using test equipment to verify operability.
• Read blueprints and schematics to complete work per specifications.

ELECTRICIAN, FACILITIES (MULTIPLE SHIFTS)

Responsibilities

• Repair and replace defective parts in electrical fixtures
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic devices
• Perform preventative repair and maintenance of field, plant, and shop electronic and electrical systems, devices, equipment and components
• Integrate enhancements and major upgrades to plant electrical subsystems
• Complete work from instructions using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Test electrical circuits to ensure their operability
• Assist in installing electrical components to architectural and code specifications
• Test wiring connections with test equipment like volt/ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes
• Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 3+ years of professional experience as an electrician

Preferred Skills And Experience

• 2+ years of experience as mechanic with generators and large engines
• Master Electrician license
• Experience with Medium Voltage
• Ability to install, cut, thread and bend rigid conduit
• Ability to identify and implement efficient paths of action to finish the assigned work
• Ability to test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair various devices
• Ability to use a variety of electrician's hand tools as well as measuring and testing instruments
• Demonstrable knowledge and/or understanding of codes, rules, regulations and standards of electrical equipment
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and reports
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments

Additional Requirements

• Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
• Must be willing to work one of the following shifts:
  • Day Shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm, Sunday - Thursday
  • Night Shift: 6:00pm - 6:00am, Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday
• Exact schedule varies depending on site operational needs and flexibility required regarding frequent overtime
• Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small opening and climbing hand over hand, lifting 25 lbs., and working on ladders/lifts at elevated heights
• Ability to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
