Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a highly skilled Electrician to support crushing operations. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems on processing equipment, and program PLCs to optimize performance.

You will travel 50-75% to active job sites across the United States, interpreting schematics, diagnosing motor control systems, and collaborating with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to minimize downtime while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of industrial electrical experience in aggregate/mining/crushing environments.
• Demonstrated PLC programming, troubleshooting, and system integration experience.
• Strong knowledge of motor controls including VFDs, starters, relays, and control circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% to job sites nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for crushing/aggregate equipment.
• Program, diagnose, and modify PLC systems (Allen‑Bradley/Siemens or similar).
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on motor control systems, VFDs, soft starters, MCCs.
• Interpret electrical schematics and manuals to support field operations.
• Support commissioning, startup, and optimization of crushing and screening equipment.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to improve reliability and performance.

This role is critical to ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of crushing plants across multiple project sites.
