Job summary

A mining operations firm is seeking an experienced Electrician to maintain and optimize industrial electrical systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, installations, and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong troubleshooting background, completed an electrical program, or have substantial hands-on experience. This role includes mentoring other staff as needed and requires ownership of personal tools.

Qualifications

• Completion of a certified electronics program, or minimum of 4 years experience.
• Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude through assessments if required.
• Experience with low- and medium-voltage systems is preferred.

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.

What You Will Do

As an Electrician supporting crushing and conveying operations, you will be responsible for the safe and effective maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of industrial electrical systems. Responsibilities include:

• Removal, repair, and installation of electrical components and systems
• Advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and system optimization
• Preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment, including:
  • Substations and power distribution systems
  • Switchgear, motors, motor controls, and drives
  • PLCs, process control systems, and instrumentation
  • Pneumatic systems and field devices
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, control systems, and low- to medium-voltage equipment
• Calibration of transmitters, transducers, and weigh scales
• Performing work in compliance with regulatory and safety standards
• Following all SOPs, work instructions, and safety/environmental protocols
• Safely completing both routine and non-routine repairs and construction tasks
• Mentoring or assisting other electrical workers as needed

What You Bring

One of the following is required:

• Completion of a certified electronics, electrical, or instrumentation program, OR
• Minimum of four (4) years of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation maintenance experience, OR
• Associate degree or trade school certification in a related field plus two (2) years of relevant experience

Additional qualifications include:

• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret schematics, prints, and technical manuals
• Experience maintaining and repairing electrical circuits and connected equipment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ownership of required personal tools (or ability to obtain them within 90 days of assignment start)
• Ability to demonstrate required technical aptitude through assessments or evaluations, if required

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and HMIs
• Experience working with low- and medium-voltage systems
• Background in AC and/or DC controls
• Experience with industrial instrumentation devices
• Familiarity with diagnostic and test equipment
