Job summary

Base is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to support its Austin, TX battery fleet. You will be in the field daily, pulling wire, opening panels, troubleshooting problems, and setting high standards through hands-on work.

You will guide others while doing the work yourself, with an emphasis on proper execution, safety, and on-site problem solving. This is an on-site role with potential on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Valid Residential Wireman or Journeyman Electrician license.
• 4+ years of electrical work experience, preferably with batteries, EV chargers, or whole-home generators.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to crews and inspectors.
• Clear communication with installers, inspectors, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and battery system failures in the field.
• Ensure installs pass inspection and meet quality benchmarks.
• Meet inspectors on-site, walk installs, and resolve issues in real time.
• Onboard and train new installation crews to maintain high performance.
• Maintain mastery of Base hardware, NEC Codes, and general electrical principles.
• Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation for urgent night/weekend issues.

About the Role

Base is scaling the future of energy, and we’re looking for a Journeyman Electrician who thrives in the field. You will be on-site daily—pulling wire, opening panels, troubleshooting real problems, and setting the standard through action. You are the technical backbone of our Austin, TX battery fleet. While you’ll guide others, your primary value comes from doing the work yourself and doing it right.

What You'll Do

You will be actively involved in the field every day, including:

• Hands-On System Diagnostics: Personally troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and battery system failures in the field.

• Quality & Compliance: Perform rework to ensure installs pass inspection and meet internal quality benchmarks.

• On-Site Authority Representation: Meet inspectors and AHJs in the field, walk installs with them, and resolve issues in real time.

• Crew Mentorship: Onboard and provide hands-on training for new installation crews to maintain high performance.

• Expert Oversight: Maintain deep mastery of Base hardware, NEC Codes, and general electrical principles.

• Emergent Support: Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to address urgent night/weekend electrical issues.

What You'll Bring

• Credentials: Valid Residential Wireman or Journeyman Electrician license.
