\Position Overview\\
\

The Electrical Field Service Technician at the Apprentice level plays a key support role in the repair, replacement, and installation of equipment and systems. This entry-level position provides hands-on training and a foundational knowledge of electrical operations under strict adherence to safety procedures. Working under the guidance of experienced electricians, the Apprentice develops essential skills, builds industry expertise, and grows technical abilities in the field, learning through observation and hands-on tasks without direct customer contact.\

\Key Responsibilities\\

\General Duties\\

    \
  • Take instruction and learn from experienced technicians and supervisors, executing assigned tasks through repetition and observation.\
  • \
  • Learn basic electrical theory (voltage, current, resistance).\
  • \
  • Learn the use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemicals and lubricants.\
  • \
  • Learn about arc-flash risks and required protective actions.\
  • \
  • Learn the division's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\
  • \
  • Learn the purpose and reasoning behind safety protocols, best practices, troubleshooting methods, and quality standards.\
  • \
  • Learn to identify common failure causes for equipment and systems.\
  • \
  • Learn to use diagnostic tools such as pressure gauges, multimeters, and temperature sensors.\
  • \

  • Prior experience in construction, electrical work, or related field service is helpful.\

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.\

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management, and customers.\

  • Ability to persevere through challenges and failures.\

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.\
  • \
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a driving record that qualifies as “insurable” by the company's insurance carrier; MVR reviews may be conducted at any time. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Brandon & Clark.\

  • Able to work 40 hours per week on a regular basis, with availability for additional hours as needed. Overtime is anticipated and may include evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.\

\Physical Requirements\\

  • Ability to work in high places, tight or confined spaces, and other adverse locations.\
  • \
  • Ability to lift heavy components up to 75 lbs.\
  • \
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.\

  • Work is performed the majority of the time at customer sites, with productive shop work as assigned by the manager.\
  • \
  • May work outdoors in varying weather conditions.\
  • \
  • Work areas may be very noisy and may require ear protection.\
  • \
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, and environmental hazards.\
  • \
  • Some travel is required, including out-of-town and overnight assignments, and may include evenings and weekends.\
