Job summary

Mission Critical Group is seeking an Electrical Apprentice 1 to support the installation of electrical systems and conduit on building projects. Under supervision of experienced electricians, you will assist with wiring, interpreting blueprints, and routine tasks to ensure safe, high-quality electrical installations and project success.

This hands-on role is ideal for individuals eager to learn the electrical trade, grow skills, and contribute to a team delivering reliable power infrastructure

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Enrollment in an electrical apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Safe and compliant with PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints under supervision.
  • Assist installation of conduit, electrical boxes, fixtures, and enclosures.
  • Pull wire through conduit and assist with ground connections.
  • Help install receptacles, switches, and basic wiring configurations.
  • Participate in insulation resistance, continuity, and point-to-point checks.
  • Stock and organize electrical wire carts and materials.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area and follow safety protocols.
  • Follow instructions from journeymen, crew leaders, and supervisors.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the electrical team.

Job Description

Summary:

The Electrical Apprentice 1 plays a vital role in supporting the installation of electrical systems and conduit for building projects. Working under the guidance of experienced electricians, this position involves assisting with wiring, interpreting blueprints, and performing routine and semi-complex tasks to ensure safe and efficient electrical installations. This hands‑on role is designed for individuals eager to learn and grow in the electrical trade while contributing to high-quality workmanship and project success.

Accountabilities:
  • Assist in reading and interpreting blueprints under supervision.
  • Support installation of conduit, electrical boxes, fixtures, and enclosures.
  • Pull wire through conduit and assist with ground connections.
  • Help install receptacles, switches, and basic wiring configurations.
  • Participate in insulation resistance, continuity, and point-to-point checks.
  • Stock and organize electrical wire carts and materials.
  • Observe and assist with operational checks and quality assurance tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety protocols.
  • Follow instructions from journeymen, crew leaders, and supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the electrical team.
  • Report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Required to wear PPE, including safety glasses and steel-toed boots.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • This role is primarily based in a manufacturing or construction environment, with exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Mobility: Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, or crouch for 8–10 hours per day.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands to handle tools and components.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs, following OSHA standards.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate safely and communicate effectively.
