Job summary

Global Steering Systems Holdin seeks a skilled maintenance electrician to perform repair and preventive maintenance on plant machinery and electrical systems. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical wiring, lighting and control systems across the facility.

The role requires reading PLC ladder logic, adhering to electrical codes, and ensuring safe, reliable operation. Five years of on‑the‑job experience and an E2 license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of electrical schooling minimum.
• Five years of on‑the‑job electrical training preferred.
• E2 License required.
• Ability to read PLC ladder logic and troubleshoot PLCs.
• Extensive knowledge of National and Local electrical codes.

Summary

Perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, and building equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform work in accordance with sound safety practices.
• Work within the TPM and TMC systems to detect defects in equipment and to make proper repairs and/or adjustments.
• Perform P/M’s and C/M’s on equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems on all plant equipment, machines and power and lighting systems.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Executing plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systems
• Installing electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
• Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units
• Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects

Requirements

Experience and Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• E2 License Required
• Reading, writing and mathematical level necessary to competently perform job duties.
• Minimum two years of electrical schooling.
• Minimum five years of on the job electrical training.
• Ability to read PLC latter logic and PLC’s Troubleshooting.
• Extensive knowledge of and work in accordance with the National and Local electric codes.
• Thorough working knowledge of the following: PLC’s, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical.
• Extensive knowledge in troubleshooting to minimize machine downtime and improve safety.
• Extensive knowledge of the practice, methods, tools, equipment and material used in this trade.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to read and interpret sketches, diagrams and blueprints.

Additional Notes
