Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an experienced electrician to maintain and repair electrical systems across campus and satellite facilities. The role supports safe, reliable operation during the third shift and requires strong troubleshooting, communication, and preventative maintenance skills.

Responsibilities include installation, modernization and repair of electrical equipment. A Nebraska Journeyman license and a valid drive license are required, with training moving from day shift to 3rd shift

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years electrical experience required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Formal education in a vocational or trade school specifically related to plant electrical maintenance required.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to work with tools and test instruments required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve problems while working in stressful situations required.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions, including understanding equipment manuals required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and staff required.
  • Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance functions required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • State of Nebraska Journeyman electrician license required.
  • Current valid motor vehicle operator license required.

  • Maintain and repair a wide variety of electrical systems for the organization across campus and satellites.
  • Install, connect, maintain, modernize and repair electrical equipment to ensure reliable, safe operation.
  • Support cost-efficient operations by ensuring equipment is functional and up to code.

Shift: Third Shift (United States of America) Electrician Shift Details: Full-time/ Third Shift 11:00pm-7:30am, Sunday - Thursday Weekends and holidays as needed with one week on call rotations every 6-7 weeks. Training will start on day shift and will slowly move to 3rd shift.

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems for the organization.   • Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance functions required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • State of Nebraska Journeyman electrician license required.
  • Current valid motor vehicle operator license and ability to meet and maintain insurability required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electro/mechanical experience with working knowledge of electrical systems in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend the installation and maintenance of all levels of electrical systems to include emergency power generators, fire alarm testing and repairs, low voltage paging and other electrical systems normally found in healthcare facilities preferred.
  • State of Nebraska Fire Alarm installer license preferred.
