Melvin Stone Company is hiring an Electrician to bring new ideas/initiatives and technology to management on a consistent basis. This position will do local travel (no overnight). Your territory will by Southwest OH, Northern KY and Southeastern IN.

We are looking for experience with working on electrical projects within aggregate facilities, with a strong background working with 480 volt electrical systems, drives, PLCs, and controls.

Electrician Responsibilities not limited to:

  • Provide analysis, evaluation and review of problems regarding automation, advanced methods and equipment, material handling, layout and material flow.
  • Provide alternative solutions to anticipated or actual technical manufacturing problems.
  • Utilize new equipment advances such as PLC (programmable logic controller).
  • Plan and supervise power distribution equipment specific to the aggregate manufacturing industry.
  • Working extensively with electrical equipment such as circuits and transformers.
  • Design new equipment or redesign existing equipment, and coordinate its fabrication, assembly, installation, and startup.
  • Supervise sub-contractors used onsite as needed.

Electrician Skills / Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of aggregate plant operations is preferred.
  • MSHA certified is a plus.
  • Knowledge of routing electric power, controlling its quality, and controlling the devices attached to a power system.
  • Experience working with low and medium voltage and PLC automation.
  • Proficient in PC software packages (MS Power Point, Excel) and applicable engineering tools, knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Experience working with motor controls, power distribution and instrumentation and control systems.
  • Strong technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with an open and collaborative attitude.
  • Awareness of industry safety systems, legislation codes and contractual documentation.

Electrician Working Conditions:

  • Most days will be spent in the field on site, however you will work in office environments.
  • Working onsite at an aggregate plant, possibly in remote locations exposed to extreme weather conditions.
  • Will work in a team environment with other professionals.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime and various shifts as needed.
