Job summary

Texarkana Aluminum is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to analyze electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems across our heavy industrial operations. You will install, repair, calibrate and modify equipment, and lead maintenance efforts in response to unplanned outages.

You will read electrical and hydraulic schematics, use diagnostic tools including voltmeters, megger and oscilloscope, and ensure procedures are followed in a metrics-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Five years of heavy industrial maintenance and electrical experience or completion of an approved Heavy Industry Apprentice Program.
  • Proficient in reading electrical and hydraulic prints and schematics.
  • Experience with 460V circuits, thermocouples, and motor drives preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and service electrical, hydraulic, electronic and pneumatic systems to install, repair, or calibrate equipment.
  • Lead maintenance responses to unplanned interruptions and minimize downtime.
  • Follow documented procedures and uphold safety and quality standards.

High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.Act DC motor and drives, 460V circuits, 4 to 20 MAmp control circuits, thermocouples, single phase and 3-phase circuits, reversing starters, personal computers, gas fired burners, heaters.Print reading including electrical and hydraulic prints and schematics.Troubleshooting, conduit threading, bending installation, welding, wiring installation, electronic repair skills.Use of Voltohm meters, meggar, oscilloscope leaders, PLC's, PC's.Calibration of all types of electrical equipment and gas fired burners.Able to work flexible hours as required.Strenuous physical activities including a lot of walking, climbing ladders and stairs, entering confined areas, heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more) and working in high areas.
