Job summary

Facilities Maintenance Management (FMM) is seeking motivated Electricians to join our team in Louisiana. The role involves servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical components for commercial construction projects, with emphasis on safety and code compliance.

You will perform inspections, read blueprints, connect wiring, test systems, and collaborate with other trades to complete projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Must adhere to safety protocol and work in a drug-free environment.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the electrical trade and have a knowledgeable understanding of the craft work being performed.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations and learn client and company policy.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions using FMM's core values of Quality, Teamwork, Integrity, Safety and Versatility.
• Proficient in computer, text, and email skills.
• Proficient in using power tools and electrical testing equipment.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Experience working with high voltage and low voltage systems.

• Ability to build and install electrical systems in commercial and residential settings.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.

FMM is seeking motivated Electricians to join our Team! FMM is a maintenance and construction company servicing both residential and commercial clients nationwide.

Job Summary

Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing, or installing electrical components for a commercial construction project in Louisiana. The person who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such an individual or others in the workplace.

Essential Job Duties

(Included but not limited to)

• Must possess the ability to plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Place conduit and pipes, in walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
• Perform electrical inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Install and connect wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures.
• Test electrical systems for functionality and safety
• Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.
• Pre-job and Pre-task Planning
• Identify behavior and conditions, which jeopardize the safety of others
• Question the need for additional safety precautions, if believed to be necessary for the safe completion of the job.
• Inspect all tools and equipment before each use to ensure good working conditions.
• Comply with site safety rules by following procedures and by wearing the prescribed PPE.
• Never take directions or changes to assigned work from Client personnel without first checking with the Supervisor.
• Attend daily toolbox safety meetings and scheduled training sessions.
• Inspect their work site continuously to ensure that unsafe conditions do not exist.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
• Position will require working in all weather (hot/cold muddy) conditions
• High noise environment
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; and working around construction machinery.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs
• Hand/eye coordination
• Hearing and comprehension are necessary for giving and receiving directions
• Will be performing tasks involving physical labor on construction projects.
• May operate hand and power tools of all types.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry objects on a frequent basis.
• Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing /pulling, or standing and lifting.
