Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a Shop Electrician to join our manufacturing team. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems on refrigeration equipment, reading schematics and supporting in-house engineered solutions.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with a 1st shift, Monday–Friday schedule and occasional Saturdays. Journeyman license preferred and safety testing ongoing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an industrial setting; Journeyman license preferred.
• Experience with wiring, bending conduit, and high/medium voltage systems.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Run conduit and wiring; connect disconnects, switches, panels, and transformers.
• Install, test, and repair electrical systems for refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot wiring layouts and motor control circuits; manage PLC sensors.
• Operate lifts as required; read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Support general construction duties and use testing equipment safely.

Shop Electrician

Job Role:

The Shop Electrician is a key member of our manufacturing team, handling installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for refrigeration equipment. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret engineering schematics. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays. Reports to the VP of Manufacturing.

Key Duties

• Run conduit and wiring; hook up disconnects, switches, push buttons, circuit panels, breakers, suppressors, transformers, and wire terminations
• Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair electrical systems including medium/high voltage automation systems and motor control circuits
• Troubleshoot wiring system layouts and circuit routing
• Operate forklifts and/or scissor lifts as required
• Read and maintain mechanical/electrical engineering drawings and schematics
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC sensors
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on all refrigeration equipment
• Assist in general construction duties
• Safely and properly use electrical testing equipment

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an industrial setting; Journeyman license preferred
• Experience running and bending rigid conduit (up to at least 4 inches)
• Knowledge of three-phase motors
• Experience with 480v AC motor control circuits preferred
• PLC installation and troubleshooting experience preferred
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
• Excellent mechanical skills required
• Must pass pre-employment and regular drug testing (safety sensitive position)
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.
