Job summary
IES is seeking an Electrician in Lafayette, IN. The role involves electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to support safe and compliant operation of systems at job sites.
The candidate should have 2–4 years of relevant experience, a solid knowledge of electrical codes, blueprints, and the ability to read schematics. Travel to multiple sites and coordination with internal teams are required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2–4 years of electrical installation, maintenance or troubleshooting experience.
- Experience in construction, operations, or service environments preferred.
- Relevant licenses/certifications as required.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

- Perform electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on electrical systems and equipment.
- Review project plans, specifications, and work orders to support accurate project execution.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes.
- Coordinate with teams, vendors, and departments regarding project activities.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to electrical work.
- Support project timelines and assist with field operational needs.
- Monitor equipment and site conditions for safety and efficiency.
- Assist with training less experienced technicians as needed.

- Monitor equipment, materials, and job site conditions to support operational efficiency and safety.
- Assist with supporting and training less experienced technicians as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication throughout all customer and operational interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.

- Previous electrical installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Experience within construction, operations, or service environments preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
- Experience supporting field operations or assisting senior technicians is a plus.
- Communicate in person, by phone, and through email.
- Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
- Stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites.
- Work on active job sites, indoors and outdoors, including attics, crawlspaces, and confined or elevated spaces, with exposure to varying weather, construction noise, dust, and other job site conditions.
- Wear safety gear such as Personal Protective Equipment.
- Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
- Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.
