Job summary

Silgan in Indiana is seeking an Industrial Electrician for a 12‑hour shift on a 5‑2‑2‑5 rotation. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in a heavy manufacturing setting, reading diagrams, and supporting preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency with a trade school certificate.
• Journeyman electrician, or minimum of 5 years of prior electrician training/experience.
• Experience with Allen Bradley systems, VFDs, PLCs hardware/software, AC/DC circuits, 4‑20 mA through 480 VAC circuits and 440 MCCs.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, specifications, equipment manuals and other written material.
• Ability to write code and demonstrate working knowledge of RS Logic.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, modify, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on electrical units, controls, components, and wiring in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Read wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, schematics, and verbal instructions for scheduled and emergency repairs, installations, and inspections.
• Manage inventory of electrical parts and motors, advise management on purchasing requirements.
• Move and install existing or new equipment and facilities.

What you’ll do:
