Shape Corp. in Grand Haven, MI is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to install, troubleshoot and repair electrical machinery across the manufacturing floor.

You will maintain PLC-controlled equipment, robotic systems and related tooling to ensure safe, efficient production. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of experience, a Michigan Electrician License, and completion of an electrician apprenticeship; Master Electrician is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED and complete electrician apprenticeship.
  • State licensure: Michigan Electrician license; Master Electrician preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and ability to drive KTMR support.

Responsibilities

  • Install, build, troubleshoot and repair machinery with electrical components.
  • Breakdown and fix PLC controlled machinery and robotic systems.
  • Support maintenance to improve production efficiency and product quality.
  • Complete work orders in Plex system and mentor apprentices as needed.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of equipment and control systems.

Job description

Position Summary: Install, build, troubleshoot and repair machinery containing electrical componentry. Provide support for the manufacturing of quality products through maintenance and installation of electrical components and equipment.

Essential Job Functions

Install, build, troubleshoot and repair machinery including:

  • PLC Controlled Machinery
  • Robotic

Operate a variety of equipment including:

  • Metering Devices
  • Hand Tools
  • Scissor Lift
  • Programable Logic Control (PLC)
  • Volt/Ohm Meter (VOM)
  • Diagnostic Computers
  • Conduit Benders
  • Threading Equipment
  • AMP Probe
  • Megger
  • Thermographics
  • Ultrasonic Analysis
Responsibilities
  • Work in a safe manner, providing constant attention and communication regarding safety concerns to leaders in order to limit unsafe practices throughout the facility.
  • Help develop specific maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain, and repair machinery.
  • Proactively participate in continuous improvement efforts and drive process, tooling, and equipment enhancements that will improve production efficiency and product quality.
  • Complete and manage work orders via the Plex system.
  • Engage with outside resources as needed to keep production running.
  • Provide direction and coaching to less experienced team members, as well as mentor apprentices as requested.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of both equipment and systems. For example, PLC troubleshooting, variable frequency drives, induction welders, mid-freq welders, etc.

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • Completion of a Formal Electrician Apprenticeship.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as an Industrial Electrician preferred.
  • Michigan State Electrician's License.
  • Master Electrician Certificate preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (e.g. word, excel, outlook, etc).
  • Ability to drive KTMR support.
