Stolle Machinery Company in North Canton, OH is seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician to test or modify developmental or operational electrical systems in can making machinery. You will work closely with Electrical Engineers and System Assemblers to ensure performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include assembling systems, calibrating and testing equipment, troubleshooting, and leading startup activities with customers. Proficiency in Rockwell and Siemens platforms is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher with hands-on electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong problem solving and analytic abilities for industrial electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with PLCs and HMI software as listed in the tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical systems or prototypes with hand tools and instruments.
  • Build, calibrate, test, troubleshoot or repair electrical instruments and test equipment.
  • Identify solutions to on-site electrical design problems and work with engineers.
  • Set up or operate test equipment to evaluate performance under simulated conditions.
  • Lead startup troubleshooting engagements with customers.
  • Program and troubleshoot on Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.

JOB SUMMARY:

Test or modify developmental or operational electrical systems in Stolle can making machinery. Work closely with Electrical Engineers and System Assemblers.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include:
  • Assemble electrical systems or prototype using hand tools or measuring instruments.
  • Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
  • Identify solutions to on-site technical design problems involving electrical systems equipment.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems.
  • Set up or operate test equipment to evaluate performance of parts, assemblies or systems under simulated operating conditions.
  • Review existing electrical engineering criteria keeping it current.
  • Prepare, review or coordinate ongoing modifications to contract specifications or plans.
  • Build or test electrical components of electric-drive vehicles or prototype vehicles.
  • Serve as lead for Start Ups troubleshooting for Buy-offs with customers.
  • Programming and troubleshooting on Allen-Bradley Control Logix and Siemens Portal and Scout platforms.

Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.

Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:
  • Associate Degree plus 3-5 years hands on industry experience or 10+ years of hands on industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design/production of various goods/services.
  • Must possess effective skills in math, reading, writing, speaking, listening, critical thinking, decision making and complex problem solving.
  • Preferred Software and hardware: Microsoft Outlook 2010, Rockwell RSLogix 5000 17-20 and Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME 6.0-7.0, RSLinx, Drive Executive and Siemens TIA Portal Version 13, SCOUT Version 4.4 as well as Allen-Bradley and Siemens programmable controllers with and without safety, servos, frequency drives, and touchscreen operator panels.
This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
  • Work schedule generally consists of 40-55 hours per week, which may include overtime, on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
  • Required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Travel up to 25% may be required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
