Job summary

Worley in Baytown, TX is seeking an experienced electrician to read blueprints and determine the scope of work for electrical conduit installation. You will identify tools and safety precautions to mitigate risks and support installation and maintenance of electrical systems.

This hands-on role emphasizes fabrication, wiring, testing and inspection to ensure safe operation. Candidates should have 4+ years in industrial construction/maintenance and relevant certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance experience.
• NCEER Certified (written or performance verified).
• Ability to fabricate and install rigid & aluminum, EMT, plastic-bond, and PVC conduit.
• Ability to use mechanical benders; use hydraulic benders 2”–4”; fabricate and install conduit supports.
• Ability to do wire and cable installation by hand, by machine, and in cable trays.

Responsibilities

• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using tools such as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools.
• Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments.
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems.

Position Summary

Responsible for reading blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: location, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks and identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders
• Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools
• Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
• Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience
• NCEER Certified (written or performance verified)
• Ability to fabricate and install rigid & aluminum, E.M.T., plastic-bond, and P.V.C. conduit
• Ability to use mechanical benders; use hydraulic benders 2” – 4”; fabricate and install conduit supports
• Ability to do wire and cable installation by hand, by machine, and in cable trays.
