Job summary

Collier County is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform a range of trade functions including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/mechanical work. You will conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot faults, test systems, and support emergency power equipment across county facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, four years of related experience, and fingerprinting. A Florida driver's license with appropriate endorsements is required for county vehicle operation.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled and general work functions in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/mechanical trades.
• Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and operational support for emergency generators and related systems.
• Conducts routine generator inspections and load testing, and supports emergency responses.
• Assists with maintaining backup power systems for critical county facilities.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, installs, and upgrades electrical systems and components.
• Uses testing and diagnostic tools to identify faults and verify safety and compliance.
