Job summary

G&W Electric in Romeoville, IL is seeking an Electrical Tester I to perform basic electrical testing tasks. You will prepare products, inspect equipment, and document actions to ensure quality and traceability throughout the test process.

You will work in a safety-focused environment, using hand and power tools and reading drawings. Training and opportunities for growth are provided within a long-standing manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0–1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Ability to read drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and follow English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect product before testing.
• Inspect testing equipment and booth for operation.
• Prepare product for test with required connections.
• Separate non-conforming parts.
• Document actions on production and quality forms.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment.

Electrical Tester I

In this job you will be perform repetitive electrical testing preparation and testing tasks of basic complexity

As an Electrical Tester I you will:

• Visually inspect product prior to testing to detect conformance to standards
• Inspect testing equipment and test booth/cage for proper operation
• Prepare product for test by safely making the connections required for test being performed
• Separate non-conforming parts
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
• Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of testing tasks as needed
• Inspect all work and insure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
• Ideally has 0-1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Is able to safely use small hand and power tools
• Is able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
• Has basic computer skills
• Is able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English

The physical demands of the job are:

• Work is classified as Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles
• Frequencies - Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)
• Lifting Demands:
  • Lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis floor to waist with assistance
  • Lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis floor to waist
  • Carry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis up to 25 feet
  • Push/Pull up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis

Pay Range is typically between $22.50 to $23.75 per hour
