Job summary

G&W Electric Company in Romeoville, IL is seeking an Electrical Tester I to perform repetitive electrical testing preparation and tasks of basic complexity. You will work with hand and power tools, read drawings, and document results as part of the production process.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, 0–1 year in manufacturing, and good English reading skills; training will be provided to support safe, accurate testing in a state-of-the-art facility.

Responsibilities

Electrical Tester I

In this job you will be perform repetitive electrical testing preparation and testing tasks of basic complexity

As an Electrical Tester I you will:

• Visually inspect product prior to testing to detect conformance to standards
• Inspect testing equipment and test booth/cage for proper operation
• Prepare product for test by safely making the connections required for test being performed
• Separate non-conforming parts
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
• Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of testing tasks as needed
• Inspect all work and insure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
• Ideally has 0-1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Is able to safely use small hand and power tools
• Is able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
• Has basic computer skills
• Is able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English

The physical demands of the job are:

• Work is classified as Medium – Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor’s Dictionary of Occupational Titles
• Frequencies – Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)
• Lifting Demands:
  • Lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis floor to waist with assistance
  • Lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis floor to waist
