Job summary

Bossier Parish Community College seeks an Electrician Technology Instructor to deliver high-quality classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction at the Bossier campus. The instructor will align teaching with NCCER Core and Electrical Levels 1 and 2 to prepare students for entry into the electrical workforce.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related certification preferred.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems required.
• Knowledge of electrical theory, circuits, wiring, and code interpretations.
• OSHA safety knowledge and safe jobsite practices required.
• NCCER Core and NCCER Electrical Levels 1 & 2 preferred.
• Ability to obtain NCCER Craft Instructor certification.
• Experience teaching, training, or mentoring students preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction in Electrician Technology.
• Deliver instruction aligned with NCCER Core and NCCER Electrical Levels 1 and 2.
• Prepare students to safely install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Teach electrical theory, code requirements, drawings, circuits, and motor control concepts.
• Incorporate safety, PPE, and industry standards into lessons.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and progress.
• Support recruitment, retention, and employer engagement related to electrical programs.
• Teach day, evening, weekend, or partner-location courses as assigned.
• Collaborate with college leadership and industry partners to ensure program relevance.
