Job summary

National Solar Observatory is seeking Electrical Technicians (Level I or Level II) in Hawaii. Responsibilities include supporting engineers in the design and testing of electrical systems. Requirements include a high school diploma for Level I or an Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics for Level II with respective experience. Salary ranges from $52,601 to $75,750 based on experience. An excellent benefits package is also available.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience or educational equivalent.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for soldering and assembling electronics.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation and modification of electrical sub-systems.
  • Identify and report discrepancies in documentation.
  • Develop and execute maintenance plans.
  • Monitor and report results of technical activities.

Skills

Fine pitch soldering
Interpreting electronics schematics
Testing and troubleshooting circuits
Working safely around high voltages

Education

High school diploma
Associates Degree in Electrical or Electronics
