Morson Human Resources Limited in Wilmington, NC is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician for a 1-year, onsite contract on a Nuclear project. The role centers on assembling, wiring, and testing I&C equipment, following engineering drawings and work instructions.

You will solder, fabricate cables, wire panels, and perform bench tests using multimeters and oscilloscopes, supporting engineers with documentation and quality lab practices.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or associate degree required.
• Hands-on assembly, wiring, and bench testing experience preferred.
• Ability to follow drawings, work instructions, and maintain lab documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assemble I&C components, panels, and assemblies per drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Bench-test sensors, transmitters, controllers, and signal conditioning equipment.
• Configure and verify I&C connections for system integration.

Rate: $43/hour (W2 + benefits)
Hours: 40 hours/week
Work schedule: M-F 8 am -5 pm or 7:30 to 4:30 (possible overtime)

In this role, you’ll assemble, wire, and test instrumentation and control (I&C) equipment that supports our engineering and system development efforts. You’ll build and integrate components such as sensors, transmitters, and control panels; perform bench-level and functional testing; and assist with prototype evaluations and troubleshooting.

Day-to-day work includes soldering, cable and harness fabrication, panel wiring, and using test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to verify system performance. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, maintain detailed documentation, and uphold high standards for lab organization, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support functional and environmental testing such as continuity, insulation resistance, and signal verification.
• Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and lab protocols.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to identify and resolve design or test issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by updating procedures and work instructions.
• Prepare instrumentation and test setups for system‑level or field testing as required.
