Sedron Technologies is seeking an Electrical Technician (I/O focus) in Sedro-Woolley, WA to install, wire, test, troubleshoot, commission, and maintain our proprietary electrical control and instrumentation systems from panel builds to field operation.

You will work with Electrical and Production Technicians, Control Systems Engineers, and commissioning personnel, performing I/O checks, troubleshooting PLC/HMI, and supporting startup and ongoing system maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical certificate or vocational training in instrumentation, electronics, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred
• Experience installing, calibrating, and maintaining instrumentation and electrical systems

Electrical Technicians (I/O focus) are responsible for the installation, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance of proprietary electrical control and instrumentation systems. This position plays a critical role in bringing systems from panel build and assembly through pre-commissioning, startup, and successful operation in the field.

The Electrical Technician (I/O focus) works closely with other Electrical and Production Technicians, Control Systems Engineers, commissioning personnel, and onsite operations teams to identify and resolve electrical, instrumentation, controls, and communication issues throughout the system lifecycle.

Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:

• Install and terminate field I/O wiring, instrumentation, sensors, switches, and control devices
• Verify wiring against electrical drawings, schematics, I/O lists, and equipment documentation
• Perform point-to-point checks from field devices through junction boxes, control panels, and PLC I/O
• Identify wiring errors, incorrect terminations, damaged components, and discrepancies between drawings and installed equipment
• Perform continuity, voltage, and signal verification as required
• Assist with electrical inspections and pre-startup safety reviews
• Support electrical and controls commissioning of Sedron equipment at shop and field locations
• Perform I/O checkout and functional testing prior to equipment Commissioning
• Verify operation of digital and analog inputs and outputs
• Assist Control Systems Engineers with PLC and HMI troubleshooting during startup
• Troubleshoot equipment during initial startup and commissioning
• Document commissioning issues, corrective actions, and outstanding deficiencies
• Work with engineering and production teams to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements
• Diagnose electrical and controls-related equipment failures
• Troubleshoot 24VDC control circuits, relays, contactors, sensors, switches, solenoids, motors, VFDs, and other control components
• Use electrical drawings, schematics, meters, test equipment, and diagnostic tools to isolate problems
• Troubleshoot industrial communication networks and connected devices when required
• Assist with troubleshooting PLC I/O and control-system problems
• Determine whether failures are related to wiring, components, programming, configuration, or mechanical conditions and elevate appropriately
• Travel to support commissioning and system maintenance
• Work effectively with contractors, customers, engineers, and other Sedron personnel
• Communicate field issues and recommendations back to engineering and production teams

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High-school diploma or GED required. Technical certificate or vocational training in instrumentation, electronics, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred
• Experience installing, calibrating, and maintaining instrumentation. Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance. Troubleshooting equipment faults and documenting findings. Working with mechanical systems
• Instrumentation calibration, PLC/HMI navigation, and data and monitoring experience
• Cross-functional teamwork, technical communication, root-cause analysis, and analytical reasoning
• Must be able to troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, control panels, sensors, motors, VFDs, PLC I/O, networking, and instrumentation
• Perform Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of equipment upon acceptance from contractors
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
• Ability to trace circuits from source to load
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to document work actions thoroughly.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced production and commissioning environment
• Demonstrates ownership of assigned work and follows problems through to resolution
• Strong adherence to safety rules
• Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
• Must have effective verbal, reading, and written communication skills in the English language

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Compensation for this role is between $23.00 - 40.00 hourly
• Additional pay may apply for off-shift hours, off-site work, or special assignments
• This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
• This role requires approximately 25% travel to support Sedron facilities
• In compliance with state and local pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.
