Job summary

OnSite Partners, LLC is seeking a motivated Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of energy systems. This role works under the supervision of a Foreman and will assist with renewable, distributed generation technologies, and transmission projects including wind turbines, solar PV arrays, substations, and battery energy storage systems.

Work will involve exposure to multiple voltage classes, from low-voltage control to high-voltage equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory and safe work practices.
• Understanding of voltage classifications and electrical hazards preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of electrical equipment and energy systems.
• Work on systems across varying AC and DC voltage classes (low, medium, high).
• Pull wire, install conduit, cable tray, grounding and bonding systems.
• Terminate conductors for power, control, and instrumentation circuits.
• Support system commissioning and startup activities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on energized and de-energized systems (as qualified).
• Troubleshoot electrical systems under supervision.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, and schematics.
• Use testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and torque tools.
• Follow safety policies including LOTO and arc-flash procedures.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $115,000.00 Annually

OnSite Partners, LLC is seeking a motivated Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of energy systems. This role works under the supervision of a Foreman and will assist with renewable, distributed generation technologies, and transmission projects including wind turbines, reciprocating engines, solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays, substations, fuel cells, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other emerging technologies.

Work will involve exposure to multiple voltage classes, ranging from low-voltage control systems to medium- and high-voltage equipment. Strict adherence to electrical safety standards and safe work practices is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of electrical equipment and energy systems.
• Work on systems across varying AC and DC voltage classes, including:
  • Low voltage (control wiring, 12V–600V)
  • Medium voltage distribution systems
  • High voltage equipment (under supervision and qualification)
• Work on AC and DC systems
• Pull wire, install conduit, cable tray, grounding, and bonding systems
• Terminate conductors for power, control, and instrumentation circuits
• Support system commissioning and startup activities
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on energized and de-energized systems (as qualified)
• Troubleshoot electrical systems under supervision
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, and schematics
• Use testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers (megger), and torque tools
• Follow company safety policies including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc-flash procedures
• Maintain tools, materials, and clean work areas
• Travel to project sites as required (<25% travel expected)

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory and safe work practices
• Understanding of voltage classifications and electrical hazards preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• MSHA Part 46 certification
• Experience in industrial, utility-scale, or renewable energy environments
• Basic knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E
• Experience working around medium- or high-voltage equipment
• Experience operating lifts or working at heights

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 30 pounds
• Work at heights (wind turbines, elevated platforms)
• Work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
• Climb ladders and vertical access systems
• Ability to climb ladders, stand, kneel, bend, and work in various physical positions for extended periods
