Job summary

Nomad Global Communication Solutions seeks an Electrical Technician to safely install, test, and quality assure 12V and 120V systems within projects, while improving electrical processes and maintaining existing standards.

The role requires hands-on electrical knowledge, strong customer service orientation, and flexibility to cross-train across trades. Candidates should be capable of lifting and working at heights as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1-5+ years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical systems.
  • Proficiency diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical circuitry.
  • Ability to read and follow CAD drawings.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Splice wires and solder connections to fixtures and equipment.
  • Diagnose or repair problems with electrical equipment in vehicles and systems.
  • Run wires and cables for AC and DC systems, controls, and appliances.
  • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures and equipment.
  • Replace electrical or electronic components.
  • Build enclosures and panels to fit vehicle dimensions.
  • Cross-train in areas including flooring, HVAC, welding, and IT integration.
  • Perform additional duties as needed by Team Lead.

This hands‑on role safely provided quality electrical knowledge and skills to build projects that meet customer and Nomad specifications. The Electrical Technician installs, tests, and quality assures the 12V and 120V systems within projects, while evaluating and continuously improving Nomad electrical processes, while maintaining consistent use of existing ones.

Essential Functions / Responsibility
  • Splice wires and solder connections to fixtures and equipment.
  • Diagnose or repair problems with electrical equipment, such as lights, relays, battery isolators, generators sound, navigation, communication, security equipment, and leveling systems in motor vehicles.
  • Run wires and cables for AC and DC systems, controls, and various electronic appliances.
  • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures and equipment, using electric drills, air saws, and multi-tools.
  • Replace electrical or electronic components.
  • Build wooden enclosures and carpeted wall panels to custom fit vehicle dimensions.
  • Cross‑train in areas including, but not limited to, flooring installation, plumbing, door, and window installation, HVAC, cabinet and countertop making, welding, and I.T. integration.
  • Perform additional duties as needed by Team Lead.
Basic Knowledge Desired
  • Understand the significance of the Nomad Core Values apply them.
  • Have a readiness and understanding of electrical pull sheets and wiring diagrams, electrical concepts, processes, and theories of 120VAC and 12VDC.
  • Knowledge of
    • machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
    • arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
    • design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
    • principles and methods for training, teaching and instructing individuals or a group, and the measurement of the training effects.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to use hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.
  • The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.
Working Environment
  • The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.
  • The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
  • The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time, which will be provided.
  • There is some exposure to strong odors and fumes.
  • All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times in manufacturing areas. The employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 1-5+ years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience.
  • OR 1-2 years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience outside of Nomad GCS and secondary education certification specific to electrical.
  • 1-5+ years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical circuitry.
  • 1-5+ years of experience reading and following CAD.
