Job summary

Ajulia Executive Search is partnering with a stable manufacturing organization in New Jersey to hire an Electrical Maintenance Technician. You will modify, repair, and improve electrical and control systems, and serve as a technical resource to the Maintenance Manager.

The role requires strong experience with electrical distributions, PLCs, VFDs, and diagnostic tooling, with opportunities to troubleshoot a range of production equipment in a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance with 24V, 110V, 220V and 480V systems.
• Diagnose, repair and modify electrical and electronic production machinery.
• Read electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Familiar with PLCs, VFDs and temperature controllers.

Responsibilities

• Electrical maintenance & repairs on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic production machinery components.
• Troubleshoot control systems including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and temperature controllers.
• Maintain automated HVAC/R systems, electrical networks and motors.
• Conduct safety checks and address dangerous electrical conditions.
• Read engineering drawings and source replacement parts as needed.
• Support Maintenance Manager and direct crew tasks as required.

Shift Schedule:

• Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Electrical Maintenance & Repairs: Perform electrical maintenance and repairs, as well as modify and install production process equipment.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose, repair, and modify electrical and electronic production machinery, components, and relay logic circuits using multimeter diagnostics.
• Control Systems Maintenance: Troubleshoot, program, and install PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and temperature controllers.
• Systems Expertise: Maintain, troubleshoot, and install automated HVAC/R systems, electrical networks, and industrial motors.
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct regular safety checks, identify potentially dangerous electrical conditions, and take immediate corrective action.
• Technical & Operational Support: Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, utilize computer-assisted design tools, source replacement parts, and serve as backup to the Maintenance Manager as required.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Assist in directing crew tasks, foster positive team collaboration, and follow pre-established operational guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with 24V, 110V, 220V, and 480V systems, basic circuitry, VFD programming, PLCs, and multimeter operation.
• Technical Schematics: Proven ability to read and understand both electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics.
• HVAC/R & Motor Experience: Extensive background working with automated HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution systems, and industrial motors.
• Software & Systems: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD/computer-assisted engineering software.
