Job summary

Retech Systems LLC in Tonawanda, NY, seeks an Electrical Technician who can interpret electrical drawings, BOMs, and assembly diagrams to build electrical panels and control systems for our furnaces. You will work with VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, motors, and conduit/cable tray layouts.

You will participate in testing, checkout, start-up assistance, and ongoing electrical maintenance of manufacturing equipment, while keeping safety a top priority and collaborating with the manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent; or 2+ years related experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a similar role preferred.
• Familiar with NFPA 79, UL508A and NEC.
• Able to interpret electrical drawings, BOMs, and diagrams.
• Strong safety focus and reliability.

Responsibilities

Description

Candidate must be able to interpret electrical engineering documents (i.e. drawings, bills of material and assembly diagrams and instructions), to construct electrical panels and control systems for various types of furnaces that Retech manufactures. The Electrical Technician must be proficient with devices and components ranging from VFDs, PLCs, HMI, servo drives, motors, industrial control devices, and various conduit and cable tray systems. The Electrical Technician will typically perform all electrical construction and assembly tasks for our products. Additionally, the Electrical Technician will assist with testing and check out, as well as equipment start-up assistance. Candidate will also handle electrical maintenance and troubleshooting tasks for facility manufacturing equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• / Build, modify and update Retech industrial control and power systems.
• / Fabricate, and install various types of wire, cable, conduit, and cable tray systems.
• / Perform equipment testing and checkout activities at the factory and/or at the end user’s installation site.
• / Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• / Familiar with the tools and equipment of the electrical trade.
• / Familiar with installation of process control instrumentation used in the measurement of vacuum, pressure, temperature, and flow.
• / Familiar with electrical soldering for shielded cable assemblies.
• / Adhere to the codes and principles of NFPA 79, UL508A and the NEC.
• / Familiar with the use of standard meters and test equipment.
• / Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to handle tasks outside the electrical trade.
• / Knowledge of manufacturing software and Word Processing software.

Education and Experience

• / Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• / A minimum of three years in a similar role is preferred.
