Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, seeks an Electrical Technician in Beltsville, MD to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe, professional manner.

You will inspect equipment before and after use, log conditions for billing, load/unload per DOT rules, clean and prep gear for new contracts or sale, and assist higher-level technicians as needed. This is a full-time role with strong safety focus and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic electrical aptitude and ability to read instruction material.
• Must own tools applicable to this position and have a working knowledge of them.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use for damage and safety compliance.
• Report equipment condition to the counter person or Service Manager for billing.
• Load and unload equipment following DOT regulations for height, width, and weight.
• Clean equipment and prepare for new rental contracts or sale.
• Demonstrate proper use of equipment and familiarize customers with each piece.
• Perform minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe manner and assist higher-level technicians as needed.
• Assist in pickup and delivery of equipment and parts to/from other locations.
