Job summary

Eaton in Arden, NC is seeking an Electrical Technician I to own functional testing of structures, panels, and assemblies. You will read schematics, set up test plans, and chase root causes with cross‑functional teams in Engineering, Quality, and Operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in power distribution, with a focus on troubleshooting and documenting results. Shift is 3:30pm–2:00am, pay $26.50/hr.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in power distribution or electrical distribution.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical circuits.
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, inspect, and test equipment using instructions and specifications.
  • Run mechanical, electrical, insulation, and sequence tests; confirm quality and performance.
  • Troubleshoot failures, determine root causes, and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain test gear, calibration status, records, and reporting.
  • Follow safety, PPE, hygiene, and housekeeping practices.

Electrical Systems QA & Commissioning TechnicianDo you enjoy proving that complex electrical assemblies work exactly as designed? Can you read a schematic, build a test plan, and chase down root causes? Join Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division in Arden, NC as an Electrical Technician I and be the last word on quality before our power distribution solutions go out the door.Why this role?You’ll own functional testing for structures, units, panels, panelboards, component parts, controls, and full assemblies.You’ll collaborate across Engineering, Quality, and operations to resolve issues quickly and effectively.You’ll directly support customer inspectors during test and inspection activities.What you’ll work onSet up, inspect, and test equipment using verbal/written instructions, drawings, and specifications.Run mechanical, electrical, insulation, and sequence tests; confirm quality and performance.Troubleshoot failures, determine root causes, and drive corrective actions.Recommend improvements to assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing procedures; confirm repairs/changes are completed and documented.Maintain test gear, calibration status, records, and reporting.Follow all safety, PPE, hygiene, and housekeeping practices.Shift and pay3:30pm – 2:00am$26.50 per hourPay is provided as a general guideline; actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business needs.Must-havesHigh school diploma or GED (from an accredited institution).2+ years of experience in power distribution or electrical distribution.Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical circuits.Comfortable reading and interpreting electrical schematics.• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
