Job summary

Energy Systems Design, Inc. seeks an experienced electrical engineer to design power and lighting systems for institutional, retail, and commercial projects.

You will prepare calculations and construction documents, coordinating with architects, owners, and other disciplines throughout design phases. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of electrical engineering experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT MEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT MEP.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong electrical design capability in commercial, education, and institutional markets.
• Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality of work.
• Self-manager to accomplish multiple project responsibilities.
• Knowledge of current Electrical codes and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering for power and lighting systems on building projects.
• Prepare clear, cost-effective construction documents.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, and contractors throughout design phases.
• Monitor project budgets and profitability.
• Handle contract administration and reports/specifications.
• Attend construction site visits to monitor progress and review shop drawings.
• Respond to RFIs and coordinate with design team and officials during construction.

Project Responsibilities

This position provides electrical engineering of power and lighting systems for institutional, retail, and commercial building projects.

• Prepare Calculations and Well Coordinated and Technically Sound Construction Documents that are Cost Effective, Clear, and Efficient
• Communicate and Coordinate with Architects, Owners, other Engineering Disciplines, Vendors, Building Officials throughout the Design Phases of a Project
• Monitor Project Budgets and Overall Responsibility for the Profitability of His/Her Project
• Handle Contract Administration
• Prepare or Direct Preparation and Modification of Reports, Specifications, Plans, Construction Schedules, and Designs for Project
• Attend Construction Site Visits to Monitor Progress and other Duties Per the Contract Documents
• Review Shop Drawings
• Respond to RFI's and Coordinate with Contractors, Design Team, Building Officials, and Owners throughout the Construction Phase of the Project
