Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO (onsite) is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to lead electrical design for Orion test laboratories, supporting Artemis III and future missions.

You will develop wiring schematics, coordinate with subsystem engineers, and oversee lab drawings, procurements, procedures and certifications.

Candidates should have experience with ECAD tools, a degree in engineering, and US citizenship; strong collaboration and problem-solving are essential.

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to manage electrical design in Orion Test Laboratories (OTL)!

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Develop detailed electrical wiring schematics for data and power distribution layouts for Orion software/Hardware Test laboratories (ITL, VTB1/HOTH, VTB2/SSDL, CADE)
  • Collaborate with subsystem engineers to define data, electrical loads, routing, and interface requirements.
  • Management of lab test products drawings, procurements, procedures and certifications
  • Artemis III and future mission support of ITL requirements, design, and certifications
Standard Job Description:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications
  • Electrical design work experience (e.g., harnesses, cables, electronic boxes, electrical systems)
  • Fluency in ECAD applications and modeling tools (e.g., ZukenE3)
  • Experience in anomaly troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • US citizenship is required for this role
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering work experience
  • Familiarity with Orion spacecraft architecture, subsystems and Orion Flight Hardware architecture
  • Familiarity with Space programs, flight specifications, and/or COTS electronic equipment
  • Harness Electrical design experience
  • Experience in integrated avionics and software test environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Mechanical interconnect experience

Pay Information

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost‑of‑labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.

  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $106600.00 - $198000.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $95900.00 - $178100.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $85300.00 - $158300.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $76700.00 - $142500.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Ocala, FL; Lufkin, TX; etc.
