Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks an Electrical System Test Engineer to join our Costa Mesa team. You will own EMC test readiness from design translation to cross-team delivery, and create test systems to support all development phases.

Collaborate with SW/FW for test modes and telemetry while defining harnesses and test hardware setups. The role involves configuring DUT modes for EMC tests, maintaining docs, and driving on-time delivery of test assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years design experience with NX CAD software for 3D modeling and drafting.
  • Proficient in designing electrical harnessing for rugged commercial, industrial, aerospace, or military applications.
  • Familiarity with common electrical bus interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, MIL-STD-1553).
  • Proficient with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable harness drawings.

  • Track and drive on-time delivery of test hardware, fixtures, and support equipment to the EMC team.
  • Proactively manage the test schedule based on hardware availability, coordinate across disciplines, and remove blockers to eliminate dead time.
  • Maintain real-time visibility into schedule risks and elevate early to keep milestones on track.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to identify issues and drive design choices.
  • Conduct root cause analysis in support of vehicle integration and field operations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Electrical System Test Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will work closely with avionics, system, and software engineers to create test systems for development, qualification, verification, and validation purposes. WHAT YOU'LL DO

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years design experience with NX CAD software for 3D modeling and drafting.
  • Proficient in designing electrical harnessing for rugged commercial, industrial, aerospace, or military applications.
  • Familiarity with common electrical bus interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, MIL-STD-1553).
  • Proficient with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable harness drawings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and engineering documentation tools.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experienced and familiar with aircraft avionics module vendors and avionics component suppliers in UAS programs.
  • Exposure to EMC/EMI testing or familiarity with MIL-STD-461G test methods.
  • Experience working in or supporting EMC test lab environments (shielded rooms, anechoic chambers).
  • Familiarity with EMC test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, LISNs, current probes, or signal generators.
  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., LTspice, MATLAB, ADS) for filter or signal analysis.

Per Anduril's expansion plans, we anticipate this job will be based out of Long Beach, CA beginning late 2027.

US Salary Range

$129,000 - $171,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
