The Electrical Superintendent provides input and technical expertise for power generating construction projects. Support of Engineering review, procurement (if necessary), construction, and start-up of a high or medium voltage electrical system and associated substation (if necessary). Provide technical owner correspondence support. On site supervision of Field Engineers and General Foremen to ensure a safe, productive, and quality job is attained and costs are controlled in the construction discipline for the project site. Schedules labor, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractors within work discipline to effectively utilize all resources; and works with specifications and contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- SupervisesandsetsthedirectionforallGeneralForemen,FieldEngineers,andForemenon-sitetoensurethebestuseofallcompanyresources;andadherencetoallcompanypoliciesandstateandfederalregulations.ProvidesformalcoachingfeedbacktoGeneralForemen,FieldEngineers,andForemenaswellasregularinformalfeedback.
- Schedulesequipment,materials,tools,andsubcontractorstoeffectivelyutilizeallresourcesandtomaximizeproductionandminimizecostsafterbecomingfamiliarwiththescopeofworkandsiteWillcollaboratewithotherprojectstoappropriatelyutilizeandshareresources.
- TrainsandimplementsstandardizedWorkPlansandWorkAssistsFieldOperationsManagerinprocessimprovementefforts.
- Actsasanelectricalconsultanttosupervisoryandfieldpersonnelintheareasof,electricalcircuits,powerquality,switchgearinstallations,transmissionlines,interconnectsystems,andhighvoltagecollection/distributionsystems.ParticipatesinmeetingswithElectricalEngineers,Electricalsubcontractors,Owner(SMEs)andUtilityinterconnectpersonnel.SuperviseallprojectElectricalsubcontractorstoensureeffectiveuseofprojectresourcesaswellasindustryprocesses.
- Responsibleforsafeworkingconditionsandsafetyproceduresontheproject,moreparticularlyforspecificUnderstandsandenforcescompany,jobsite-specific,federal,andstatesafetyregulationsonsiteanddiscussesconcernswithSiteManager.Willberesponsiblewithinworkdisciplinefortheutilizationofbestsafetypractices:themanagementofemployeetrainingforworkmethods,emphasisonspecialrisks,cranes,lifting,DOTrequirements,siteconditions,telehandlers,JHA’s,accidentinjurymanagement,electricalsafetyhazard,LOTO,arcflash(allasapply).
- CommunicateswithSiteManagertoupdatehim/heronprojectproblemareasandthespecificstatusoftheCollaborateswithSiteManager,otherTradeSuperintendents,GeneralSuperintendents,andothersupervisiontoplanandstaff(hiring,promoting,disciplining,terminating)tradeemployeesthroughtheproperutilizationofcompanyresources,processesandpolicies.
- AssistSiteManagerincommunicatingandnegotiatingwiththeownerregardingmajorprojectdecisions.
- DisplayaprofessionaldemeanorandactprofessionallywhileinteractingwithinternalandexternalTheSuperintendentisexpectedtocreateacollaborativeenvironmentwithcraft,subcontractors,vendors,andtheOwnertocontinuallyimprovethecompany’sdeliveryperformance.
- ComparesactualcoststothejobestimateforspecificdisciplineandinformstheSiteManagerofcostover-runsandtheutilizationofcompanyresources.
- TheSuperintendentisaccountableforverifyingthattheprojectconstructionactivitiesandprojectengineeringareinconformancewiththeProjectQualityPlan,andWorkSuperintendentsareresponsibleforestablishing,aligning,andcommunicatingtheprojectspecificationsandcraftsmanshipexpectationstoallcraftworkers,vendors,subcontractors,andotheragents.Superintendentsshallassistinassemblingtheclose-outinformationneededforvariousmeetings.
- MentorsFieldCoordinator/FieldEngineersandGeneralForemenonworkdiscipline,productioncosts,thescopeofwork,quality,andsafety.
- UnderstandsscopeofworkpertheIdentifiespotentialchangeordersandinformstheSiteManager.
- Familiarizethemselveswithsiteconditions.
- MayattimesactasaprojectleaderintheabsenceoftheSiteManager.
- Performadditionalassignmentspersupervisor’sdirection.
- ParticipateinRFIdevelopmentandtechnicalaccuracy.
- Supporteconomicconditionsbyhiringlocally,attendingjobfairs,andattendingpublicinformationmeetings.
- Establishandmaintaincrewandequipmentmatrixes,comparinginformationbacktoestablishedWorkPlansandupdatingOperationsAnalysisasneeded.
- MayattimesvisitproposedprojectsitestosupportEstimatingandBusinessDevelopment.
- Becomeaprojectliaisonwithkeycommunityleadersandlocallandowners.
BasicQualifications:
- Musthaveavaliddriver’slicenseandanacceptablemotorvehicledrivingrecord(MVR).
- Abilitytosupervisemanyemployees.
- Thoroughknowledgeoftoolsandequipmentusesandlimitations.
- Goodcommunicationskillstodealwithownersandemployees.
- Possessasolidunderstandingofjobcosting.
