No applications can be submitted after 11:59PM on October 02, 2026.Job Title: Electrical SpecialistDepartment: General ServicesExternal Hiring Range: $24.09 - $28.98Compensation Grade: 2006Posted Internally and Externally**Purpose of the position:**The purpose of this position is to be responsible for skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for Buncombe County facilities and properties.**Minimum Education (required at time of hire):** High School diploma or equivalent required; with a minimum of five (5) years progressively increasing experience in electrical installation and maintenance work, including pneumatic and electrical control work; or equivalent of education and experience. Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.**Additional Training and Experience:** Continuous training and education on various equipment and controls within the HVAC industry. Completion of safety training.**License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation:** Possession of an active N.C. Electrical License, valid driver's license.**Physical Requirements:** The work is primarily very heavy work requiring exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and//or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions and involves the use of heavy equipment, machinery, and tools.
